Police pursue identity theft suspect in Southgate.
A morning rush hour pursuit of a suspected reckless driver ended in a collision with another vehicle after the pursued driver allegedly ran a red light in Southgate. The collision happened in the southern region of the city of Southgate. The passenger side of an SUV driven by a woman going to work was crushed in, and she was shaken and treated at the scene by paramedics, but did not require hospitalization. The identity theft suspect tried to flee the police after they tried to arrest her because of an arrest warrant. Police were called by her neighbors who suspected the suspect of using their identity to gain access to their savings account and to open new credit cards. However, when the police arrived at the house, the suspect was already in her car driving away. The police chased the car for many miles until she ran a red light and crashed into another car. Nobody died on the scene but passengers in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital to treat minor injuries.
